Carnegie research have earned top rankings in independent client surveys for the past ten years. Carnegie is now expanding the offering with commissioned research by launching Carnegie Commissioned Research in Sweden. In parallel, Carnegie is acquiring Erik Penser Bank’s research services, Penser Access and Penser Future.
Carnegie Commissioned Research will be launched in November and the firm has thus far commenced partnerships with a few companies selected for their high quality and interesting growth potential. As a key aspect of the initiative, Carnegie is acquiring Penser’s commissioned research business, which is currently operated under the Penser Access and Penser Future brands and covers about 80 companies. This strategic acquisition strengthens Carnegie’s market position within commissioned research. The venture will initially build on two mainstays: Carnegie Commissioned Research and Penser Access & Future by Carnegie. Following the acquisition of Penser Access and Penser Future and the 80 companies they cover Carnegie’s research will cover about 500 companies – the widest coverage in the Nordic market.
Henric Falkenberg, Head of Securities at Carnegie, comments on the strategic move:
“For quite some time, we have been receiving queries from both corporate and institutional clients about expanding our commissioned research offering. The time has now come and the time is right. Carnegie is currently working with a focused growth strategy and this venture is a key aspect of our efforts.”
Falkenberg adds: “Through the acquisition of Penser Access and Penser Future and its comprehensive portfolio of companies, we are accelerating our growth strategy and will swiftly take a solid position in the commissioned research market.”
Erika Langåker, Head of Carnegie Commissioned Research:
“We have established partnerships with a number of carefully selected, high-quality companies with which we will soon embark on research coverage. Through the launch of commissioned research, we are offering corporate clients access to top-ranked research and global distribution while expanding the selection of covered companies for our institutional clients. The acquisition of Penser widens our platform offering within commissioned research and secures capacity for continued expansion in this area of business.”
Penser Access and Penser Future will be integrated with Carnegie in late November and will continue operating under the name “Penser Access & Future by Carnegie”.
